Characteristic Detection Technology of Pressure Pipes

 

1. Magnetic flux leakage detection technology (MFL)

    MFL technology is to carry out online nondestructive testing for the inside of oil and gas pipes. The recognition for pipe defect, wall thickness change, the change of pipe material, recognition of inside and outside of defect, recognition of pipe characteristics (such as welding seam and T-junction, etc) can be completed through this technology. Comprehensive information such as depth, length, width, position and direction of the defect can be obtained through data analysis so as to provide scientific basis to pipe maintenance and repair.

 

 

     

 

2.  Guided wave detection technology

    This technology utilizes the reflection principle of ultrasonic wave and is mainly used for detection work of scanning of long distance and large area of pipes. It is provided with high positioning accuracy and far detection distance and can implement detection work for buried pipes through the crossing section, buried pipes where it is difficult to dig and overhead pipes.

3.  Stray current detection technology

    Stray current detection is an important item in long-distance pipeline inspection. The stray current from subway, high voltage transmission line may cause serious corrosion at damaged place of the erosion resistant coating. The stray current intelligent detection instrument can perform accurate positioning for current flow-in point and flow-out point of pipeline current. Reasonable evaluation is made for effectiveness of cathodic protection through synchronous detection of pipe-to-soil potential and interference current and interference measurement of dynamic and static stray current so as to provide specific suggestion to pipeline management and maintenance.

 

4.  PE gas pipeline detection

    This is mainly to carry out onsite detection for pre-buried PE gas pipeline to make pipeline positioning, leakage point positioning and welded junction quality evaluation so as to propose resolution and onsite detection scheme and put forward suggestions on operation and maintenance.

 

 

5. Evaluation on fitness for purpose

    Not all defects can lead to failure of pressure pipelines. The evaluation on fitness for purpose is to distinguish defects, make necessary analysis and evaluation, remove defects with potential danger and reserve defects without threat to achieve the purpose of unifying safety and economy.

 

6. Finite element analysis of pipeline defects

    Finite element analysis software (such as ANSYS, Abques, CAESAR Ⅱ, etc) is used to make stress analysis for pipeline containing defects and analyse  pipeline pressure, strain distribution, intensity check and residual intensity, etc of pipeline.

7.  Integrity evaluation of pipeline with defects

    It mainly includes statistics and analysis of detection data, evaluation of residual intensity of pipeline, prediction of residue life of pipeline, recommending suitable re-detection cycle, formulation of maintenance and repair plan, etc.

The device adopts automatic clamping device and can perform quantitative analysis for performance detection of urgent shutoff valve, including over-current value, determination of shutoff time, and real-time display of detection curve on computer, data processing and storage and printing performance detection report of urgent shutoff valves.

Centralized Quick Detection Platform for Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection of Boiler Products

 

The centralized quick detection platform for energy conservation and environmental protection of boiler products is one of the research and development results of the industry-university-research project of Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province about “centralized quick detection technology development for energy efficiency of multi-type oil burning boilers”. This is a type of advanced technology proposed for the first time on the basis of experience for industrial boiler energy efficiency test and data analysis, and is a type of multi-specification, multi-variety boiler energy efficiency, environmental protection and test demonstration platform of oil (gas) steam boiler, hot water boiler and organic heat carrier boiler. This fills up the gap in the industry and may provide full-load work condition test environment of steam boilers and the test environment for full-load closed heat supply cyclic system of hot water boilers and organic heat carrier boilers (liquid phase). The centralized quick test platform can perform quick dismantling and switching of oil (gas) burning boilers, and centralized test of energy efficiency parameters. The test data is stable and reliable with good reproducibility so as to provide authoritative detection service and technical guide to boiler supervision and test agency, manufacturing enterprises and users.

1. Energy efficiency test of finalized products of Industrial boilers (including condensing boiler)

(Such as: steam boilers and hot –water boiler with liquid and gas fuel, organic heat carrier boilers (liquid phase) and electric boilers);

We have international advanced inductive coupling plasma emission mass spectrometer, gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer, flow injection analyzer, high performance liquid chromatograph, ion chromatograph, gas chromatograph. The detected items include the following:

Water and wastewater: 103 items;

    The testing laboratory for fuel and combustion products mainly detects solid, liquid and gas fuel such as coal, biomass, and natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and is a co-built laboratory with Guangdong Energy Conservation Association. The detected items include the following:

    (2)  Biomass;

Onsite detection Technology for Wind Resistance and Anti-Sliding Capacity of Rail-Mounted Port Hoisting Machinery (the first at home)

 

The wind resistance and anti-sliding ability is an important parameter of port hoisting machinery product. Relevant regulation and standard have put forward concrete requirements for wind resistance and anti-sliding ability of port hoisting machinery. If the wind resistance and anti-sliding ability of port hoisting machinery is insufficient, it cannot resist invasion of big typhoon. Before the provincial station for hoisting machinery of Guangdong Institute of Special Equipment Inspection and Research Zhanjiang Branch was established, our country lacked corresponding onsite detection technology. The onsite detection for wind resistance and anti-sliding ability of port hoisting machinery had not developed.

The provincial station for hoisting machinery of Guangdong Institute of Special Equipment Inspection and Research Zhanjiang Branch is equipped with domestically advanced wind resistance and anti-sliding capacity test device (figure 1).The device uses horizontal pushing force to simulate wind load borne by port hoisting machinery in lengthwise direction so as to make inspection for wind resistance and anti-sliding capacity of port machinery. At the same time, it can run on the rail and carry out inspection at any position in lengthwise direction of the rail with strong applicability, stability and reliability.

On March 10, 2019, port hoisting machinery inspection station of Guangdong province (Zhanjiang) completed CMA certification for wind resistance and anti-sliding capacity smoothly and has become the first detection institution that has onsite detection technology for wind resistance and anti-sliding capacity of rail-mounted hoisting machinery.

The infrared thermal imaging utilizes photoelectric technology to detect infrared ray special band signal of thermal radiation of objects and converts the signal to image and diagram that can be distinguished by human vision. It can also calculate temperature value further. The center is equipped with one set of FLIR GF320 thermal infrared imager. It can display image within the temperature scope of -40℃~ +350℃ and record the test temperature. The test precision is ±1℃ within the temperature scope 0-100℃ and is ±2% if the temperature is above 100℃.FLIR GF320 is also a type of gas imaging (OGI) thermal infrared imager. At the time of thermal imaging, it can display and find the gas leakage point of volatile organic compound accurately at the condition without stopping operation. Other gas includes benzene, ethyl alcohol, ethylbenzene, heptane, hexane, isoprene, methyl alcohol, butane, ethane, methane, propane, ethylene and propylene, etc. It is very effective to utilize the equipment to carry out detection for thermal insulation properties and natural gas leakage of storage tank, pipes and other equipment within the liquefied natural gas station. The technology has become an important detection mean for storage and transportation equipment of liquefied natural gas.

The center has set up a set of experimental method and device which is suitable for test of materials out-gassing rate and out-gassing constituent of cryogenic vessels. Such device is utilized to build the capacity of testing materials out-gassing rate of cryogenic vessels. The adoption of two-stage pumping system equipped with ion pump and surface treatment of the test room ensures that base vacuum degree of the system is better than 10-7 Pa and the base out-gassing rate is less than 10-8 Pa•m3/s. This extends test lower limit of the system can carry out test for materials with air out-gassing rate of 10-9 Pa•m3/ (s•g).The system has the temperature control function to meet test temperature requirement of materials inside the test room. The scope of test temperature is -170℃250 ℃. In addition, for temperature within the temperature from normal temperature 250 ℃, it maintains constant every 10℃.The test for out-gassing rate of low pressure container materials may standardize use of cryogenic vessel materials and provide selection basis for getters for maintaining vacuum inside the cryogenic vessel. The research result of the project is helpful to promote application of vacuum maintaining technology and is of great significance for increasing service life of cryogenic pressure vessel, reducing cost and ensuring product reliability.
